NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS!The Buxton Recreation Department is hiring staff for our 2019/2020 Before and After Care Programs. These program are held at the Buxton Center Elementary School and operates on the school year calendar. Monday-Friday. Before care hours are 6:45 AM - 8:30 AM, and aftercare hours are 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM. We are looking to fill 1-5 days per week.Nature and Variety of Work:The person in this position is responsible for providing safe, enjoyable out-of-school time experiences for all program participants. This work involves having the ability to take direction, take charge, be flexible, and have good judgement skills. Childcare staff are required to be with the children at all times.Responsibility and Supervisory Relationships:All Childcare Counselors are directly responsible to the Recreation Supervisor, and ultimately report to the Recreation Director. Counselors are encouraged to seek guidance from Senior Staff Members.Desirable experience and training:Childcare Counselors should be at least 17 years of age, or show examples of significant leadership or youth program experience. They should have an understanding of age appropriate activities and behavior management techniques for children in grades K-5. The ideal candidate should be able to initiate activities and be a self-starter, as well as have effective communication skills, for dealing with children and adults. Childcare counselors should also possess the following traits: dependability, considerate, flexible, sense of humor, and a great work ethic.Childcare Counselor Duties: Attend all staff meetings and training sessions, as well as complete all required online trainings. Ensure all environments, in which he/she supervises children, are safe and age appropriate. Plan/Implement activities and events as instructed by their supervisor. Report any accidents, injuries, and incidences to the supervisor and immediately fill out appropriate paperwork. Observe all participant activity, taking note of children’s behaviors and interactions. Adhere to duties and responsibilities assigned by their supervisor. Be accountable for all equipment, including making sure it is being used in an appropriate manner. Bring and suspicions of abuse or neglect of a child who attends camp to the supervisors attention. Greet parents and children with a smile. Respectfully work alongside school staff. Participate in games and activities; Interact with children. Be a positive role model. BCES Kickball Club! Grades: 3-5Cost: $15Location: BCES- Frank Jewett FieldDates: Mondays, 9/9-10/7Time: After school until 4:00- You child will be dismissed from their classroom to the gym at 2:45.Kickball club is back! Sign your child up for some school-yard style kickball, where they can run around in the fresh fall air! We will meet in the gym after school, and head out to the Frank Jewett field for an hour of kickball! Teams will be made at random each day. Pick up is at 4:00 at the BCES flagpole. Please send them with a water bottle, snack, and clothing that will allow them to run!Please call the recreation department at 929-8381 with any questions!A minimum of 12 participants are required for this activity.

2:45 PM - 4:00 PM    Ramblers Running Club - Ramblers Running Club
Ramblers Running Club is a running program for children in grades K-3! Get your little runner moving each Tuesday afternoon in this fun, high activity program! Participants will participate in high activity games, as well as be given opportunities to earn our ever popular Toe Tokens to track how far they run! This program takes place after school on Tuesdays afternoons, and will go until 4:00. Ramblers Running Club is open to girls and boys in grades K-3. Children will be dismissed to the cafeteria at the bell, and then we will walk to the field beside the school for the program. Please send sneakers, a snack, a water bottle, and weather appropriate/comfortable clothing with your child. Pick-up is in front of the Buxton Center Elementary School at 4:00. Sign your child up for some school-yard style kickball, where they can run around in the fresh fall air! We will meet in the gym after school, and head out to the Frank Jewett field for an hour of kickball! Teams will be made at random each day. Pick up is at 4:00 at the BCES flagpole. Ramblers Running Club is a running program for children in grades K-3! Get your little runner moving each Tuesday afternoon in this fun, high activity program! Participants will participate in high activity games, as well as be given opportunities to earn our ever popular Toe Tokens to track how far they run! This program takes place after school on Tuesdays afternoons, and will go until 4:00. Ramblers Running Club is open to girls and boys in grades K-3. Children will be dismissed to the cafeteria at the bell, and then we will walk to the field beside the school for the program. Please send sneakers, a snack, a water bottle, and weather appropriate/comfortable clothing with your child. Pick-up is in front of the Buxton Center Elementary School at 4:00. Sign your child up for some school-yard style kickball, where they can run around in the fresh fall air! We will meet in the gym after school, and head out to the Frank Jewett field for an hour of kickball! Teams will be made at random each day. Pick up is at 4:00 at the BCES flagpole. 2:45 PM - 4:00 PM    Ramblers Running Club - Ramblers Running Club
Ramblers Running Club is a running program for children in grades K-3! Get your little runner moving each Tuesday afternoon in this fun, high activity program! Participants will participate in high activity games, as well as be given opportunities to earn our ever popular Toe Tokens to track how far they run! This program takes place after school on Tuesdays afternoons, and will go until 4:00. Ramblers Running Club is open to girls and boys in grades K-3. Children will be dismissed to the cafeteria at the bell, and then we will walk to the field beside the school for the program. Please send sneakers, a snack, a water bottle, and weather appropriate/comfortable clothing with your child. Pick-up is in front of the Buxton Center Elementary School at 4:00. Ramblers Running Club is a running program for children in grades K-3! Get your little runner moving each Tuesday afternoon in this fun, high activity program! Participants will participate in high activity games, as well as be given opportunities to earn our ever popular Toe Tokens to track how far they run! This program takes place after school on Tuesdays afternoons, and will go until 4:00. Ramblers Running Club is open to girls and boys in grades K-3. Children will be dismissed to the cafeteria at the bell, and then we will walk to the field beside the school for the program. Please send sneakers, a snack, a water bottle, and weather appropriate/comfortable clothing with your child. Pick-up is in front of the Buxton Center Elementary School at 4:00. NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS!The Buxton Recreation Department is hiring staff for our 2019/2020 Before and After Care Programs. These program are held at the Buxton Center Elementary School and operates on the school year calendar. Monday-Friday. Before care hours are 6:45 AM - 8:30 AM, and aftercare hours are 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM. We are looking to fill 1-5 days per week.Nature and Variety of Work:The person in this position is responsible for providing safe, enjoyable out-of-school time experiences for all program participants. This work involves having the ability to take direction, take charge, be flexible, and have good judgement skills. Childcare staff are required to be with the children at all times.Responsibility and Supervisory Relationships:All Childcare Counselors are directly responsible to the Recreation Supervisor, and ultimately report to the Recreation Director. Counselors are encouraged to seek guidance from Senior Staff Members.Desirable experience and training:Childcare Counselors should be at least 17 years of age, or show examples of significant leadership or youth program experience. They should have an understanding of age appropriate activities and behavior management techniques for children in grades K-5. The ideal candidate should be able to initiate activities and be a self-starter, as well as have effective communication skills, for dealing with children and adults. Childcare counselors should also possess the following traits: dependability, considerate, flexible, sense of humor, and a great work ethic.Childcare Counselor Duties: Attend all staff meetings and training sessions, as well as complete all required online trainings. Ensure all environments, in which he/she supervises children, are safe and age appropriate. Plan/Implement activities and events as instructed by their supervisor. Report any accidents, injuries, and incidences to the supervisor and immediately fill out appropriate paperwork. Observe all participant activity, taking note of children’s behaviors and interactions. Adhere to duties and responsibilities assigned by their supervisor. Be accountable for all equipment, including making sure it is being used in an appropriate manner. Bring and suspicions of abuse or neglect of a child who attends camp to the supervisors attention. Greet parents and children with a smile. Respectfully work alongside school staff. Participate in games and activities; Interact with children. Be a positive role model. 2:45 PM - 4:00 PM    Ramblers Running Club - Ramblers Running Club
Ramblers Running Club is a running program for children in grades K-3! Get your little runner moving each Tuesday afternoon in this fun, high activity program! Participants will participate in high activity games, as well as be given opportunities to earn our ever popular Toe Tokens to track how far they run! This program takes place after school on Tuesdays afternoons, and will go until 4:00. Ramblers Running Club is open to girls and boys in grades K-3. Children will be dismissed to the cafeteria at the bell, and then we will walk to the field beside the school for the program. Please send sneakers, a snack, a water bottle, and weather appropriate/comfortable clothing with your child. Pick-up is in front of the Buxton Center Elementary School at 4:00.
