Welcome to the Buxton Recreation Soccer Program!
We are excited your child will be joining us for the 2018 season! We are offering playing opportunities for kids in grades PK-7 this fall. Registration opens on Monday, June 11, and is rolling until the program is full. To register, log into your Buxton Recreation account, and follow the prompts. Your registration is not complete until we have received your payment.
Four ways to make a payment:
1. Mail a check made out to Buxton Recreation Department, and mail to 185 Portland Road, Buxton, Maine 04093
2. Call the town hall at 929-5191 to make a payment using a credit/debit card. Please note that there is a 2.5% fee on all card payments.
3. Stop by the Buxton Town Hall to pay with cash, check, or credit/debit card.
4. Go to https://www.informe.org/payportonline to make an online payment*. For instructions on how to use the payment portal, please see Pay Portal Instructions.
Buxton Recreation Department's Youth Sports Philosophy
The Buxton Recreation Department strives to offer high quality youth sports programming for its community. Our youth sports programs are designed to provide recreational opportunities that will encourage good sportsmanship, age-appropriate fundamentals, knowledge of the game, teamwork, as well as personal health and well-being. Coaches, parents, and fans will work together to help children develop a love and passion for the sport by creating a fun and enthusiastic environment for the all participants in our programs.

Coaches are essential to our programs success! No experience? No problem? We will help you! Coaches receive a free program credit towards one child's registration in the soccer program.

Pre-School Soccer: This is a smart-start style soccer program that will introduce the sport to your little athlete in a fun, non threatening environment! Each Tuesday starting September 4th, there will be new skills to learn, that will also encourage your child to learn basic techniques, and have opportunities to socialize! This is a parent participation program, aimed at getting you to play and have fun with your child, so please come prepared to help your child learn new skills and activities! This is a 5 week program, running from 5:00 PM - 5:45 PM on a NEW NIGHT-Wednesdays, 9/5-10/3. This program takes place at the Town Farm Field. There is limited space in this program, so please register early!
Kindergarten Soccer: Kindergarten soccer will run for 5 weeks on Saturday mornings starting Saturday, September 15. The program will run from 9:00-9:50. Participants will learn basic skills and drills, with emphasis on being part of a team. The first part of the program is a team practice. The second part is a game! We are looking for coaches for this program. There is limited space in this program, so please register early!
First and Second Grade Soccer: Our first and second grade soccer will have one practice during the week, and then have one in house game on Saturday morning against another Buxton Recreation Department team! Teams are co-ed, and are managed by volunteer coaches. Practices will start the week of September 10th. Parents will get an email once the teams and schedule are set. All games and practices are at the Town Farm Field.
Grades 3/4 Soccer: These age groups are divided by gender to make teams. These are travel teams, which will have between 1-2 practices per week, and then a game on the weekends. Practices will start the week of September 4th. Parents should expect to travel to games outside of Buxton. Game schedules will be posted in early September. All practices will take place at the Town Farm Field.
5-7 Travel Soccer Team: Depending on registrations, this team may be co-ed, or may be put into single gender teams. The team will have between 1-2 practices per week, and then a game on the weekends. Practices will start the week of August 27th. Parents should expect to travel to games outside of Buxton. Game schedules will be posted in early September. All practices will take place at the Town Farm Field.
